In the impoverished village of Khanaighat, Sylhet district of Bangladesh, population of approximately 500, we spoke with Mr Abdur Rohim who is the custodian of the Deep Water Pump installed by EduCareProject.
He felt that no one should ever go without clean and safe water to live. These villagers had to resort to drinking contaminated water, where parasites and dirt were clearly visible in the water. The young managed to get water from nearby rivers, whilst unfortunately the elderly and women had to suffer. These people had to choose between drinking, cooking and washing with dirty, contaminated water or no water at all. They were at constant risk of contracting waterborne diseases like dysentery, diarrhoea and cholera, which can be fatal to health.
However, the life of these once in danger people has completely changed. Alhamdulillah, after installing this deep tube well, 200 households have benefited including their stock.
There is much work to be done, as the demand increases, we would like to install 2 more deep tube wells in this village to ensure that everyone has equal accessibility to clean water. With your help, we can continue providing life-saving water to those in need. Please help us to continue delivering clean water solutions to those who need it the most.

Access to safe drinking water can transform lives. The gift of a tube well will ensure that 3-4 families have access to clean water for drinking, washing and cooking.
Tube wells are manually operated and can lift water from about 30 metres beneath the ground. They are designed to last at least 10 years and can be easily maintained by the beneficiary.
The wells are located in convenient locations, often between a cluster of houses.
